Wicklow County Council is seeking expressions of interest to provide consultancy services for the design of social housing projects in the county.
The local authority has issued a tender notice stating it wants to create a framework of consultants for various housing projects between 2022 and 2026.
Expressions of interest are being sought to provide design, architectural and engineering consultancy services.
The tender notice states that the total value of the projects would in the region of €32 million, divided into eight lots of €4 million.
The initial contracts will be for the proposed ten residential units at Ballynerrin Upper and a further 80 social homes at Lott Lane, Kilcoole.
Councillor Tom Fortune welcomed progress on the delivery of social homes in Kilcoole and urged the council to accelerate plans for affordable housing on the site.
"The plan is to develop the site in total with both social and affordable houses and I would encourage the council to get the affordable housing up and running as soon as possible.”
Cllr Fortune added that it is positive to see movement on the proposed social homes on the Lott Lane site, but there is also a huge demand in the area for affordable housing.
