A sauna, which opened its doors at Bray Seafront, is already booked out.

Fad Saoil Saunas have set up their Finnish style sauna at the harbour side of the Bray promenade for one week only, offering free sauna sessions. Booking opened on Sunday night at 5 p.m. and high demand meant that all the slots sold out quickly.

“We got the opportunity to promote our services for the week,” Steve Crosbie of Fad Saoil Saunas said, adding that the business would “love to stay” in Bray.

Fad Saoil Saunas was inspired by a love of sea swimming, which can be challenging in winter months due to the cold weather.

“We offer 30 minute slots. People come in for 10 to 15 minutes, then go for a quick swim. Then they come back for 10 to 15 minutes, before going for a longer swim as the body has been heated internally,” Steve said.

The team converted a shipping container into the sauna during 2020 and the facility can accommodate up to 12 people. Covid-19 measures are also in place at the sauna.

While the sauna is fully booked for the week, Steve said any cancellations will be posted on their social media channels.
