Martin O’Toole completed a 26.2 miles marathon back in September and raised a total of €8,950 in aid of Rathdrum Cancer Support and St Colman’s Residential Care Centre.

Martin walked the equivalent distance of two marathons for both charities, who remain close to his heart having himself suffered ill health in recent years, including cancer and heart issues.

Having set off rbight and early on September 17, Martin’s route saw him pass through Ballygannon, Ballinderry, Ballintombay, Ballinabarney, Ballintombay Lower, Greenane, Garrymore, Greenane, Ballinaclash, the Meetings and Rathdrum, finishing with two laps of the fishpond and back to Ballygannon.
