An Arklow woman facing five road traffic charges had her case adjourned for hearing at a district court sitting recently.

Anna Pawlak (41) 88 Woodlands Park, Arklow, is charged with failing to produce an insurance certificate, failing to produce a driving licence within ten days, having no insurance, driving without a licence, and driving or attempting to drive while over the limit for alcohol at Arklow Garda Station on September 7, 2020.

Solicitor Padraig Hyland told the court that the defendant had been unable to attend the last court date as she had been unwell. He submitted a medical certificate to the court.

Discovery was handed over by the court presenter.

Mr Hyland made applications for legal aid and a hearing date.

Judge David Kennedy granted the application for legal aid. He asked about a claim made by the defendant at a previous sitting that the charges had been duplicated.

Mr Hyland said he was instructed that there is a level of duplication. He said he wished to discuss the case further with the court presenter before the hearing.

Judge Kennedy adjourned the case to November 10 for hearing.
