An Arklow’s man case for failure to wear a face mask was adjourned pending a letter from his doctor at Arklow District Court recently.

Mark O’Brien (26) with an address at 126 St Peter’s Place, Arklow but now residing at 29 St John’s Villas, Arklow was charged with not wearing a face mask in Bridgewater Shopping Centre on February 2, 2021.

Solicitor Yvonne Dunne, defending, said that Mr O’Brien had previously suffered two collapsed lungs and had a letter from his doctor saying that he was only allowed to wear a visor, not a mask.

Mr O’Brien did not have the original letter in court and Judge David Kennedy adjourned the case to December 8 for the defendant to produce the letter to the court
