DONARD

Donoughmore summer Fayre

The Donoughmore summer Fayre will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 1, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Donoughmore. There will be lots of old-fashioned stalls, novelty races, afternoon tea, Kildare Crafters, hoopla, face painting, Hungry for Hotdogs, and lots more. Mini Auction will take place at 4 p.m. First prize in the raffle will be €500. Admission €3. Children free.

Bingo takes place in the Hollywood Centre every Thursday night at 8.30 p.m. with two jackpots to be won.

Friendship Club

Hillbillies Football

Football are taking a break and will be back in September. Football is on every Monday night in the Hollywood Centre from 8.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. For further information contact Paul Clarke at 083 1522272.

Hollywood Bowls

Bowls are taking a break and will be back in September. The club bowl every Friday nights in the Hollywood Centre between 8.10 p.m. New Members’ are always welcome, so come along and see what it is all about, it is a great way to spend the winter nights.

Sinéad O’Brien Dance School

The Hip Hop is taking a break and will be back after the summer. Dance Classes are on every Friday with a new timetable 3-6 years 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., 7-10 years 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and new class 11 years up 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. contact Sinéad for details at 087 2924559.

Adult Badminton

Adult badminton is taking a break and will be back after the summer. Takes place every Wednesday night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Hollywood Centre. For further details contact Deirdre Keogh at 087 6193509.

Tinahely Craft Market

The craft market is now open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The venue is the old Pop up shop opposite the butchers. There is a great selection of beautifully crafted pieces which make ideal gifts. Please come along and support your local artisans.

We will be showing all our talented crafts people work in the Craft Marquee at the Tinahely show this Bank Holiday Monday.

Shillelagh Community Alert

People who are over 65 can apply through Shillelagh Community Alert for funding for social monitored alarms. Please contact 087 6028614 if you are eligible.

Tinahely Tidy Towns are holding a coffee morning fundraiser, in the Courthouse Arts Centre on Saturday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please come along and support.

Dog Owners

To those that walk their pets on leash, a big thank you. To those that don’t please be aware you are endangering the future of the walks for the wider community. The Railway Walk and extension have a strict rule that dogs must be on leash and no dogs are permitted on any of the looped walks. Please remember to bring a bag to pick up the poop.
