Newry’s finest The 4 of Us will play two sold out shows at Whale theatre, Greystones this September 30 and October 1.

Brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy have penned such Irish rock pop classics as Mary and Drag my Bad Name Down from their debut 1989 album Songs for the Tempted and are still producing fresh music over 30 years later.

The streamlined acoustic version of the four-piece band has been itching to tour since lockdown grounded the group. The brothers managed to keep fans and themselves involved during that time with a series of online performances on Facebook Live. Classics from their debut album to Sugar Island albums were peppered with gems including their latest track Waiting Game, that was inspired by lockdown.

Frontman Brendan Murphy said: “Considering that we’ve been off the road for a year and a half now, I actually think that we’ve got better, and while performing online is great, there’s nothing like the thrill of playing live on stage.”

Keep an ear out for interesting guitar tunings and the Nashville influence with the brothers guitar playing. Doors open at 7pm, show at 8pm.
