There was a party atmosphere at Pettitt’s SuperValu Bray as the store celebrated its first birthday.
The supermarket opened its doors on the Southern Cross Road in 2021, but was unable to hold a big celebration at that time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Store Manager Aidan Doyle said: “Our first birthday gave us an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the store. It was also a chance to thank our customers, who gave us a massive welcome, and our staff.”
The weekend of celebrations included special offers, a plant sale, sourdough starters and in-store tastings of a range of products.
Over 500 free cups of coffee and hundreds of free ice creams were enjoyed by customers throughout the event.
Bakery staff created a stunning cake to celebrate the store’s first birthday, which was cut by local girl Faye Byrne.
"We have a fabulous building here, departments and equipment. But it’s the staff and customers that make it.
"Our staff are our most valuable asset and we want to thank them for their hard work and dedication. We also want to thank our customers for their trust and giving us their valued business.”
Mr Doyle also thanked local suppliers for their support.
