NEWTOWN Juniors received a great response to their first Spinathon in aid of Pieta House held last Saturday outside Dunne Stores in Newtownmoutnkennedy.

There was even a surprise visit from none other than Mrs Brown herself, aka John Latchford.

38 spinners took part, with some of them spinning twice, and a whopping €2,500 was raised.

The Club would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that donated and to thank all the spinners, as well as Club Chairperson Pauline Martin who was the driving force behind this fundraiser.

The Club would also like to thank the Glenview Leisure Club for the use of their spin bikes, Dunnes Stores, Brian Martin and Philip McDonald from Ultima Oil who collected the bikes and Anto Martin from A&J Martin Construction for bringing the bikes to Dunnes on the morning.

Anyone that would still like to make a donation can make it through Revolut @ 0876987653 with a message saying Pieta.
