Greystones is all set for the festive season following the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights.

The ‘Light Up Greystones’ was a huge success and kicked off with a Santa Parade through the town. Santa Claus and his elves visited as many estates as possible during their visit to Greystones. Many families came out to wave to Santa  on his journey and the parade was a great success.

The Light Up Greystones event took place virtually with people watching the festive fun from the comfort of their own home. The celebration was presented by Anna Daly with special appearances from Dustin the Turkey, Bressie and performances from Ross Scanlon, Dylan Crampton and DoMiSo music school. Santa Claus did the honours and swiched on the Christmas lights in Greystones.

For this year’s festivities, Greystones was visited by a delegation from its twin town Holyhead in Wales. They received  warm welcome from the town. The contingent, including  Holyhead Mayor Richard Parry and Deputy Mayor Adrienne Edwards,  met with Wicklow County Council officials, members of the Greystones Town Team, the local town twinning committee and local councillors during their visit.
