There was great support for the debut solo exhibition of work by emerging artist Daniel Kennedy at the Mermaid Arts Centre.

What Matters Mind Over Matter Or Matter Over Mind’ showcased the Glasthule-based artist’s striking works in acrylic on canvas. The opening night was a great success with many art lovers coming to the Bray gallery to enjoy and admire the art on display.

The exhibition was opened by Helen O’Donoghue Senior Curator: Head of Engagement and Learning at IMMA. The evening also included a reading from a specially commissioned text by Sara O’Rourke, Department of Anthropology, Maynooth University.

Meanwhile, a new exhibition of work by Brigid O’Brien will open at the Mermaid Arts Centre on Thursday, November 18.  The Wicklow based artist will introduce ‘Home’, a new series of monumental drawings of people performing the most commonplace tasks. The opening event takes place at 6 p.m.
