SS Michael and Peter Junior School recently held an art exhibition, displaying the talents and creativity of their students. The school, who teach those from junior infants to second class, exhibited the students’ art pieces for the whole school community to see.
All the art pieces were framed and displayed with pride for parents, teachers and the wider community to enjoy. A raffle was also held which raised €2,200 to support the school’s resources.
The school also took part in the Creative Schools initiative with the students being tasked with designing and decorating ceramic tiles for the school’s sensory walkway.
“We had a very creative year,” teacher Honor Noonan said. “It is great to showcase the children’s talents.”
The feeling that came with seeing their art pieces hang on the walls echoed throughout the school this year and made it an enjoyable time for all. “They really enjoyed it, there was such a lovely feeling in the school,” explained Honor.
With the support of their school and the obvious artistic flair on display, SS Michael and Peter Junior School may be sculpting Ireland’s next great artists.
