WICKLOW town hairdresser Samantha King was among the big winners last weekend at the Wicklow Town and District Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards.

In a welcome return to in-person celebrations, Wicklow’s business community donned their finest to come together for an evening of recognition.

Samantha’s King Hair & Beauty, based in the Wicklow Enterprise Park, was crowned Best Retail and was also given the Best Digital Award.

Sharing the joy, Samantha was back on stage to present Ronan Short from IT Support 4U with the covetted Best Professional Service Award, while Best Sustainability, Governance and Enverance went to architects MosArt.

Based at the Wicklow County Campus in Clermont House, MosArt’s sister company NetZeroBAU recently won the Architecture Choice award at the Architecture and Building Expo in Dublin.

Proudly collecting the Best Start Up Business Award was Mia Parsons, owner of Distrikt By Mia, an eclectic gifts and interiors store on South Quay in Wicklow town that opened in the summer of 2021.

The Brass Fox near the harbour was winner of the Best Eating/Pub/Hospitality Award and Roam Adventure Trailers won the Honouring Entrepreneurship and Innovation Award.

Special Recognition went to Garda Niall Kennedy, who recently quit his long boxing career due to injury, and the Wicklow Ukraine Support Group was given the Honouring Excellence in the Community Award.
