Public defibrillator

The defibrillator is located at Henry and Rose, Main Street, Newtownmountkennedy. In any emergency dial 999/112, don’t assume somebody else has.

Yes, the news you have all been waiting for... bingo is back in Newtownmountkennedy Community Centre on Friday, June 3. Doors open at 7.30 p.m., starts at 8.30 p.m. – bring a friend.

Men’s Shed

Again there is uplifting lilting music to be heard coming from the shed confines at Killadreenan, now that our band of very capable musicians are gathering each Thursday evening Dermot, Liam, Pierce, Andy, Mick, and others meet for a great oul jamming session, belting out past hits of Johnny McEvoy, Wolfe Tones, Fureys etc. I swear the veggies in the allotment area have improved immensely since we left the window open and the music drifts around in the evening air.

A number of members took part in a Siel Bleu exercise session on Tuesday morning, which was enjoyed by all and introduced by the lovely Sinéad.

Strawberry production is on schedule, as is tomato growth although a continuous fight with pests threatens the final outcome, the lads have to keep a keen eye on things in the tunnel each day to control anything untoward.

Members are reminded that the end of May is the last day for membership fee to be payed in full, so lads a final reminder thank you.

We hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine throughout our community, we remind you all to be careful in your daily comings and goings, and to watch out for each other and remain safe.
