Betty calls time on her cleaning career at Newtown
STAFF and pupils of Newtownmountkennedy Primary School bidded a fond farewell to Betty Hamilton on Friday as she retired after over 30 years working as the school cleaner.
The morning started with a number of presentations to the departing Betty, including a framed picture. Warm tributes were also paid. Over the past 33 years many familiar faces in the school have come and gone, but Betty has remained an ever present. The high regard with which she is held by the local community was evident by the amount of well-wishers, family and friends who attended a reception organised by the school in her honour.
