Sky Blues march on as Rovers bow out

Soccer, LFA Junior Cup

North End United marched on in the O'Neill's LFA Junior Cup when disposing of St. Paul's Artane in their fourth round clash in Hollygrove on Sunday.

Kyle Dempsey, Paul 'Spot' Murphy and Adam Beary all hit the back of the net for the Sky Blues in a 3-1 victory.

Shamrock Rovers fought back from two goals down against Evergreen F.C. to force extra-time, but in the end they suffered the heartache of a penalty shoot-out defeat.

Emmeet Quirke and Ricky Dwyer scored for the Enniscorthy side, but their efforts proved to be in vain as they were beaten 5-3 on spot-kicks.

Glynn Barntown lost 3-1 away to a strong Freebooters side, with Jack Brazill getting the goal for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Courtown Hibs comfortably came through their third round tie against Blackrock College.

The north county outfit impressively won 4-0 thanks to a double from Glen Hughes and a goal apiece from Cormac Moore and Jake Cassidy.
