No stopping Campile United

CAMPILE UNITED look set to launch an assault on the Carlton Millace Premier Division title this season.

Dylan Mernagh ensured he would hog the headlines as he returned home with a four goal haul. PJ Banville landed a single while Johnny Keating was also on target for United on Sunday.

Forth Celtic is glancing on enviously from Murrintown at Campile's early season form. Celtic took on Bunclody this week and they unfortunately remain rooted to the bottom of the table after tasting defeat for the third time in as many outings.

Darren Jordan did his best to shed his side's 0% record this season but his strike proved to be no more than a consolation effort as Bunclody ran out 1-3 winners.

Chris Atkinson, Barry Murphy and Sewean Gadzina registered Bunclody's efforts as they picked up their first victory of the season.

Those three points propel Bunclody up to sixth position, two points behind the table-topping trio of Campile United, Courtown Hibs and North End United, and the latter of that trio were also in action this week, picking up a 1-2 win over New Ross Celtic. Craig Maguire got his name into his manager's book after bagging a brace to secure his side the points. Anthony O'Connor scored Celtic's effort.

Gorey Rangers and Shamrock Rovers ended 0-0 as did Ferns United and Wexford Bohs.
