Campile end on a high

Gorey Celtic 0, Campile United 4: Campile travelled to Gorey Celtic on Thursday evening and four goals from Eva Boland gave them the three points needed to set up a winner takes all decider with Bridge Rovers in Under-14 Division 2A. After an evenly-contested first-half, Campile got on top in the second-half to secure all three points.

Bridge Rovers 3, Campile United 5: Described by all present as the 'match of the season', these teams served up a thriller with Campile eventually doing enough to take all three points and leapfrog their opponents to take the league title.

With both sides going for the crown, an exciting game was always on the cards and that was what was produced. It was unfortunate that there had to be a loser in such a thrilling contest.

Sinéad Ronan-John, Jamie Devereux and Chloe Mythen were all on target for the home side but two goals each from Eva Boland and Chloe Banville and one from Tasmin Baker saw Campile clinch the league title.

League Vice-Chairman Barry Dempsey was on hand to present the league trophy to the delighted winning captain, but both sides can be very proud of the part they played in such an exciting finish to the division.
