Amhrán Na Farraige (song of the sea) is the title of an exhibition by artist Esther O'Kelly which will open at the Pigyard Gallery in Selskar, Wexford on Saturday June 30, running until July 21.
Esther who grew up on the Burrow in Rosslare and currently lives in Belfast, is inspired by the Irish coastline and the beautiful, windswept nature of the landscape.
She studied Visual Communications at NCAD and after 15 years working as a graphic designer, she took a career break to focus on her creativity.
Esther creates colourful vibrant paintings that seek to capture a memory and a sense of place. Her themes are inspired by sealife and a long family tradition of fishermen.
The exhibition will be officially opened by the artist Bernadette Doolan, RUA, RHA.
