OYSTER Lane Theatre Group has announced 'Sweet Charity' as their October 2010 production.
The show will run from October 18 to 23 next. Sweet Charity had a revival on Broadway in 2005, where Hollywood Actress Christina Applegate played the lead. Based on the film 'Nights of Cabiria' by Federico Fellini, Sweet Charity is the story of a girl who wants to be loved so much, that she has lost sight of who she is.
Wonderful musical numbers include 'Big Spender', 'If My Friends Could See Me Now', 'There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This', ' I'm a Brass Band', ' Baby, Dream Your Dream' and 'Rhythm of Life'.
Oyster Lane Theatre Group will hold an information night on July 1 in the Friary Hall, Wexford at 8 p.m. where more details about Sweet Charity and audition pieces will be made available.
The open auditions themselves will take place Friday, July 9 from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. The call backs will be held Sunday, July 11, with times to be confirmed. All are welcome.
The director for Sweet Charity is currently being tendered and will be announced at the information night.
Oyster Lane had another surprise for its members last Thursday night by announcing Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' as their October 2011 production.
