Wexford Film Society will launch its new Picture House season on Thursday, September 27 at 8pm in Wexford Arts Centre ahead of a gathering of film society representatives from all over the country who are arriving here to view movies for programming purposes.
The Picture House will announce its line-up of films due to start on November 6 and chairman Stephen Eustace will also reveal the identify of the latest recipient of its annual fellowship. The award is presented to a Wexford person who has distinguished themselves in the world of film,
The season launch usually takes place in October but has been brought forward to coincide with access>Cinema's Viewing: Sessions 2018 which are being held in Arc Cinema and Clayton Whites Hotel over the weekend of September 28 to 30, allowing film societies to network and view films for selection. They were last held in Wexford in 1998. access>Cinema director Maeve Cooke will attend the Picture House launch in advance of her own event.
