pupils from Curracloe National School played a final tune at their end of year concert last Monday.
Every child in the school had a role in the concert which featured a mixture of musical plays, songs, Irish dancing and traditional Irish music.
The first half of the concert saw children perform well-known songs, including two which previously featured in the school's version of Little Red Riding Hood. Later in the show, students of music teacher Martha Torpey, played some traditional Irish music for the audience. Martha had been rehearsing with the students twice a week in the run-up to the performance.
There was a great turnout for the show, with over €600 raised on the night through show tickets, raffle tickets and a tuckshop. These funds will go towards the purchase of musical instruments for the school, which pupils will be able to borrow whenever they wish.
