One hundred young artists from all over the county created paintings for the Wexford Lions Club annual Open Submission art exhibition which is continuing in the Upper Gallery of Wexford Arts Centre until March 23.
The overall children's winner was Sinead O'Reilly who was presented with a Perpetual Trophy marking the centenary of Lions Club International.
The award was for a work which explored the history of the Lions Club or reflected the aims and overall ethos of the organisation.
The category winners were Finley Anderson (5-7 years), Clodagh Roche (7-9 years), Killian Lett McGuinness (9-11), Zoe Wright (12-13) and Kate O' Hara (14 plus).
The participating children let their creativity run free to produce portraits, landscapes, cartoons, and animal pictures as well as abstract creations made from a variety of materials including paints, felt, buttons, collage and glitter.
Artist Rosie O' Gorman who co-founded Cow House Studios in Rathnure was the guest speaker and adjudicator at the official launch She praised the standard of the entries and the imagination and creativity of the young artists.
