The Geordie Gallery in Tagoat will present works by the Wexford-born artist Lauren Breatnagh from May 31 to July 31, with an official opening at 6pm on the opening Friday to which everyone is invited.
The exhibition will feature colourful paintings by the young artist as well as sketches and related drawings.
Lauren, who has local ties to Tagoat, believes that the painter has the same traits as that of a storyteller, creating a world and a life for the observer to be drawn into while still holding some mystery.
'My work is very much informed by by love of nature, colour and shapes.
'I like to challenge the boundaries of painting by using different materials that I have at hand during the process', she said.
The Geordie Gallery is open on Thursday and Saturday and by appointment by ringing 085 1561590.
