THE CAST has been announced for Oyster lane Theatre Group's October production of 'Sweet Charity'. Once again there are new faces and old, along with a few ' breakthroughs', who have been giving their all in the chorus over the last few years.
Back again after last year's performance as Julia in 'The Wedding Singer', Alison Doyle will play the lead role of Charity. Also returning, for the first time with Oyster Lane since 'All4One' in 2007, is James McDermott in the role of Oscar. One of Charity's best friends, newcomer Jill Murphy, who had a fantastic audition, will play Helene while Maria Mulcahy-Gore, who has made a breakthrough after being with Oyster Lane in chorus throughout the years, will play Nicki, the other best friend.
Regular Neal O' Leary will play the role of Vittorio and Julie Freeman plays Ursula. Eddie Milbourne returns for a second year to play Daddy Brubeck and has the challenging task of performing the well-known and much-loved 'Rhythm of Life' number.
Another newcomer, Pavlina Krnacova, plays the part of Rosie. Robbie Duggan plays the Fandango Nightclub boss Herman, while Mick Farrell is also back after last year's lead in 'The Wedding Singer' and this time he plays a number of minor roles.
The production team sees Paul Walsh back for his fourth year as Director. Musical Director Patrick Clancy is also back, as is Suzanne O'Leary as Choreographer.
Sweet Charity will be staged from October 18 to 23 in Dun Mhuire Theatre and promises to be a highlight of the 2010 Fringe Festival.
