Wexford author Carmel Harrington is launching her latest book 'A Thousand Roads Home', a story about a single mother and her son DJ who are on the verge of being made homeless.
Crime writer Catherine Ryan will launch the book on Saturday, October 20, at 6.30 p.m., in the Gaslamp Gallery on Esmonde Street. Carmel, who is an Irish Times bestselling author, will sign copies of her novel and is looking forward to meeting her regular readers.
'Carmel has been a great supporter and indeed friend to the Gaslamp Gallery,' said owner Claire O'Connell. 'It really is an honour to host the launch for her and to have not one but two best selling authors in the room.'
Carmel lives in Screen with her husband Roger and their two young children Amelia and Nate. She has published a total of seven novels, been short listed two years running for an Irish Book Award and won two writing awards - Kindle Book of the Year 2013 and Romantic eBook of the Year 2013.
Her books have captured the hearts of readers worldwide and are translated into eight languages to date.
Previous novels include The Woman at 72 Derry Lane, The Things I Should Have Told You and the official ITV novel Cold Feet The Lost Years.
Carmel's warmth and wit make her a popular speaker in schools, libraries and festivals and she has given talks throughout Ireland, UK and US.
Books will be available to purchase at the launch and all are welcome to attend.
