Audition bells ring for 'The Wedding Singer'

OYSTER Lane Theatre Group has announced that their 2009 October Festival production will be the hilarious new musical comedy 'The Wedding Singer', with auditions being held in July.

Based on the hit movie of the same name starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, this new musical (which was nominated for five Tony Awards for its 2006 Broadway run) will be premiered in Ireland by Oyster Lane. Oyster Lane are thrilled to bring this show to the Wexford stage. The show will run for six nights, from October 19 to 24 (inclusive) in the Dun Mhuire Theatre.

With 15 large chorus numbers and a broad variety of central and supporting parts, 'The Wedding Singer' requires a diverse cast and chorus, ranging from wedding and Bar Mitzvah guests to Grandma Rosie.

Auditions for the show will be held in the Friary Hall on July 11 and 12, and audition pieces can be obtained from the group's website www.oysterlane.com or by contacting the secretary at 086-1744778.
