
Wexford Light Opera Society's recent production of The Gondoliers' has been nominated for two AIMS awards.
The Society is in the running to receive an award for the Best Gilbert and Sullivan pre-1935 Show' while Fr. John O' Brien has been nominated for Best Musical Director'.
Fr. O' Brien directed The Gondoliers following a two-year sabbatical from the musical director's job.
The nominations were announced last Saturday by Ronan Collins of RTE and the awards will be announced at an AIMS banquet in the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney on June 16.
Meanwhile, Wexford's Oyster Lane Theatre Group which presented Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in the Presentation School last October, has been nominated for a Best Front of House award in a separate AIMS category.
