VAT case adjourned

A CASE involving a Wexford businessman charged with failing to make VAT returns, was adjourned by Judge Gerard Haughton in the local District Court.

Colman Doyle, 66 South Main Street is charged with failing to make VAT returns for May to December 2010 and January/february 2010. The case was due for hearing on Monday but State Solicitor Kevin Doherty said the defendant was unaware of the proceedings.

Siobhan Dunne, solicitor who works with Mr. Murphy's company said they did not have instructions from Mr. Doyle himself. Mr. Doherty said some of the family had decided to try and deal with it.

Judge Haughton adjourned the case to June 25 for hearing.
