OYSTER Lane Theatre Group have announced the cast for their 2009 production 'The Wedding Singer'.
This musical comedy is based on the 1998 hit movie of the same name starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
It is set in the mid '80s, where central character Robbie Hart lives in his grandmother's basement in New Jersey and sings in a wedding band. His dreams of being a singer/songwriter are long gone, replaced now by a burning desire to find the right girl and settle down.
Robbie Hart, the protagonist of the show, will be played by Mick Farrell, a former OLTG member who re-joins the group after a 14 year sabbatical. Julia Sullivan, the sweet and naive waitress, will be played by OLTG newcomer Alison Doyle from Kiltealy.
Sammy, Robbie's best friend and band mate will be played by OLTG stalwart and committee member Robbie Duggan.
Holly, Julia's uninhibited manmad cousin, will be played by Rebecca Hadrill while Glen Guglia, Julia's money obsessed Fiancee. will be played by another OLTG stalwart, Neal O'Leary.
