it WAS wet, wet, wet on the Taghmon Tractor Run last weekend, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the 40 people taking part.
The run took the 21 tractors and their support staff from Taghmon to Gorey and Carlow on Saturday, Carlow to Kilkenny on Sunday and back to Taghmon on Monday.
Sunday's weather was the worst of the weekend, but organiser Pat Monaghan said everyone was fully suited up in rain gear with wide-brimmed hats the order of the day.
'We got wet on Sunday all right,' said Pat.
The oldest tractor taking part was a 1952 Fordson Major P6 and all those on the fund raiser for Wexford Hospice Homecare completed the 250km marathon.
Pat said the organisers were still totting up how much was raised, but it would run into 'thousands'.
He said that in the 11 years the Taghmon Tractor Run had been taking place, it had raised almost €300,000 for deserving causes.
