Former Republic of Ireland and Premier League footballer Stephen Hunt has put his Rosslare business venture back on the market, this time with a guide price of €775,000.
The former Reading and Wolves man originally opened Tides Gastro Pub in Rosslare Strand back in 2014 having invested heavily in a complete refurbishment of the building. Since then it established a reputation for food and drink. The premises houses an inviting bar, a 60 seater formal restaurant and a stylish enclosed beer garden for guests to enjoy and auctioneer overseeing the sale John Keane is calling it 'one of the most recognised licensed premises on the South East coastline'.
'It's only been listed in the past couple of weeks and we've already had significant interest,' he said. 'It's rare enough that you'd get a place in such fabulous condition and it's trading very well. You don't need me to tell you how popular Rosslare is and the trade isn't just seasonal there now, it's good all year round.'
Resident in the area himself, this is the second time that Hunt has put the business up for sale in recent years. Two years ago it was also put on the market with a guide price of €1.2million. It is anticipated that the drop in price may attract more potential investors to what could become a little goldmine just opposite Rosslare's sandy beaches and just up the road from Kelly's Resort and Spa.
