A SPECIAL night to mark 50 years of Taghmon Senior Citizen's group was held at the Oak Tree, Foulksmills on Tuesday night.
94 people sat down to a lovely meal to celebrate the landmark year for the group which has members across the greater Taghmon, Camross and Foulksmills areas.
Committee member Mary Monaghan said: 'We had a very good night. We had a cake to celebrate our 50 years.'
Special guests on the night included Wexford Mayor George Lawlor who sang for the guests, along with Sarah Murphy, while Paddy Greene was MC. Fr Seán Gorman and Fr David Murphy were also in attendance. Music was provided by Mick Sinnott, Jimmy Lawlor and Joe Curran.
The informal night gave everyone the chance to catch up on the events of 2014 and to recall past members.
'It's a highlight on our social calendar. It was lovely to come together. It's something we want to keep going.'
She said many Taghmon Senior Citizens' members have made great friendships through the organisation.
