The annual pilgrimage season in Our Lady's Island was launched on Saturday and, so far, it has attracted people from all across the country.
This year, the theme of the pilgrimage is 'love is always patient and kind'.
'We feel that Our Lady's Island is a place where people can reflect in a serene atmosphere about love, which is an important part of life,' said Parish Priest, Father Brendan Nolan.
The Catholic Feast Day of the Assumption on August 15 marked the opening of the pilgrimage season, which runs until September 8. A procession of the Blessed Sacrament around the island took place after the first Mass.
Mass will be held each day of the season, at 3pm and 8pm. There will an opportunity for confessions after each service.
