Oyster Lane Theatre Group has cast newcomer Bridget Nolan, from Bunclody, in the lead female role of showgirl Lola La Mar for its forthcoming show Copacabana, which will be performed at the Dun Mhuire during this year's Wexford Festival Opera.
The leading male role, Tony Forte, will be performed by Oyster Lane regular Neal O'Leary.
Both leads will be ably supported by Caroline O'Connell as Gladys Murphy, Ken Moroney, from New Ross, as Sam Silver, Heather Hadrill as Conchita Alvarez and Barry Wadding as Rico Castelli. Smaller supporting roles will be performed by Oyster Lane Chorus members.
The show will be directed by Alan Corcoran, musical direction by Patrick Clancy and choreography by Suzanne O'Leary.
Rehearsals, for what promises to be a lively, humorous, glitzy show, will begin at 8 p.m. next Monday in the Friary Hall.
