NO progress was made with a drugs possession prosecution as a Wexford defendant failed to turn up at the District Court in Gorey.
A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Paul Sillery (26), address given as 8 Bride Street Lower in Wexford. The absent defendant was accused of an offence allegedly committed at Commercial Quay last May.
He was represented in court by solicitor Ed King, who acknowledged that he had difficulties obtaining instructions from the accused, though correspondence had been received from Sillery's mother.
Garda Inspector Pat Cody was concerned that the defendant might no longer be residing at the address which appeared on the court list and successfully applied for the warrant.
