New festival aims to be better than the real thing!

Wexford is set to welcome a brand new festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend as the Crown Live and The Crown Bar present CrownFest!

Having hosted some of the country's finest tribute acts in recent times, the management of The Crown Live have decided to bring a host of them together for an extra special tribute weekend, outside at the Crown Bar carpark.

Without doubt top billing will go to Queen tribute, Qween, who have consistently sold-out shows and thrilled Wexford audiences with every visit.

Similarly Fleetwood Mac tribute Mack Fleetwood are set to come in for some 'Big Love' as they headline the Saturday night.

Saturday, August 1, will see performances from Thin Lizzy tribute Thinner Lizzy, Moonage Daydream's tribute to David Bowie, Slippery When Wet performing the music of Bon Jovi and the aforementioned Mack Fleetwood.

Hitting the stage on Sunday, August 2, will be Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute, Creedence Awakened, The Ultimate Police, a George Michael tribute from James Bermingham and the by now legendary Qween.

Organisers are hoping to create a proper festival atmosphere with food vendors and an outdoor bar on site.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on both days with music up 'til midnight.

Tickets are priced at €40 for a weekend pass, with daily tickets priced at €30. For more details, see www.crownfest.ie.
