Wexford gardai are awaiting guidelines from the Department of Justice on the enforcement of new drug driving laws before officers will be trained in the use of equipment.'When we get the policy that's when we will start the training', said Chief Superintendent John Roche. He added that local training was due to start last week but couldn't proceed in the absence of detailed guidelines on the regulations. Cllr. Barbara Ann Murphy said more public information is needed about the use of prescription drugs and the risk of people failing a drug driving test when they are on certain medications.'Is there a list of prescription drugs that we know we shouldn't be taking. We need more advice,' she said.
