Final fundraising push for Ian's cycle

HICKEY'S Pharmacy in Gorey is holding a major fundraising day this Saturday, September 29, to provide one last big fundraising push for Ian Lacey's cycle from Alaska to Argentina for the Irish Carer's Association.

Tanya and Keith in Hickey's in Gorey Shopping Centre have organised several fundraisers, including a family fun day with children's entertainment and goody bags at the store this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Later that day, they will hold a charity leg wax and head shave in McCrea's of Carnew from 9 p.m. onwards. A sky dive is also planned before Ian arrives home in October.

To date, Ian's supporters have raised €17,600 for the Irish Carer's Association in the name of the 350South challenge, and they hope to exceed €20,000 before Ian arrives home in October. He's currently edging closer to Ushuaia at the bottom of South America where his journey concludes.
