A souvenir DVD of the 2017 Ferns Pilgrimage to Lourdes is now available for sale.
It should be of interest to those who travelled to Lourdes with the Diocesan Pilgrimage in May, or to those who have thought about travelling in the future. Next year will be the 50th Ferns Diocesan Pilgrimage.
The DVD was produced by Eamonn Doran from Askamore, and comprises a wonderful record of video and photographs of this year's pilgrimage, as well as footage of Lourdes itself and its many aspects. It captures many of the spiritual, joyful and serene aspects of the pilgrimage, and some of the work that goes on behind the scenes.
The 49th annual pilgrimage was led by Bishop Denis Brennan. The DVD also highlights the significant contribution that young people make to the pilgrimage under a wonderful group of leaders, and also the impact the five-day trip has on those who are ill or have a disability.
This year's DVD is dedicated to two special friends of the Ferns Pilgrimage who died in April and June this year - Charlie Murphy and Tommy Larrisse. Both were an integral part of the pilgrimage for many years and are greatly missed.
Copies of the DVD are available for €20 in Myles Doyle's, Main Street, Gorey; in Billy Doyle's shoe shop, Enniscorthy and Wexford; in Ferns parish office; or phone 087 2646410. All proceeds go towards the Lourdes Invalid Fund.
