The proceeds of a pool tournament held in memory of the late P.J. Fanning of Harriestown, Ballymitty who died in March of this year, was presented by his family to representatives of the Boyne Rescue Service.
The pool tournament organised by the Fanning family, raised €1,700 for the volunteer rescue service which travelled to Wexford from County Louth to help with the search and recovery operation.
A cheque presentation took place at an evening of appreciation for Boyne Rescue in the Rathangan Bar.
The pool tournament is to become an annual memorial event with the proceeds from next year's events going to the RNLI.
