Drug habit 'kicked'

A WEXFORD man has 'completely kicked' a serious drug habit, the local district court has heard.

David O'Brien, of Orchard Lane, Ardcavan Strand, was before Wexford District Court last week charged with possession of cannabis resin at Trinity Street, Wexford, on October 6, 2010.

The defendant was in a vehicle stopped on Trinity Street and a small amount of cannabis was found in the driver's side pocket. It was worth €20.

Judge Gerard Haughton heard that O'Brien has a number of previous convictions for both the possession of drugs and dealing drugs.

Tim Cummings said his client has 'completely kicked the habit' after attending Aiséirí.

O'Brien was convicted and fined €300.
