Wexford councillors have congratulated members of the Presentation Order on the milestone occasion of their 200th anniversary in the town.
Cllr. Lisa McDonald said she attended a celebration Gala night and described it as an amazing event which reminded people of all the work that the Presentation sisters have carried out in the town over two centuries.
The Mayor of Wexford Cllr. Tony Dempsey joined in the congratulations and informed his colleagues that he was in fact the first male teacher in the Presentation school.
Cllr. George Lawlor said he was a past pupil of the Presentation primary school in Waterloo Road and he complimented the congregation on all that it had achieved in Wexford.
'I am also a past pupil of the Presentation', said Cllr. David Hynes.
'They have a lot to answer for' quipped the Mayor with a smile.
