All lit up to raise funds for children's hospital

KILLINICK is being lit up in spectacular fashion for Christmas as the Walsh family last week turned on their Christmas lights.

The switch was flicked on the annual lights display at Trimmer, Killinick, on Wednesday, December 8.

Though access was very limited at the time, the road was since cleared and people who brought their children along to see the impressive lights were asked to make a donation to Temple Street Children's Hospital.

The lights are on around the home of Michael and Kathleen Walsh, who along with their daughter Helen, hold the annual fundraiser to raise money for Temple Street Children's Hospital, where Helen's four-year-old daughter Chloe sadly passed away early in 2006.

The display is getting bigger and better every year, with several new additions again for this festive season. The lights will be on until 'Little Christmas', January 6.

Meanwhile, the family last week made a seperate contribution to the hospital of €1100, the proceeds of another fundraiser held earlier this year.
