Wexford's latest, much anticipated public amenity, the Min Ryan Park, is set to partially open to the public next month.
While some parts of the park require another few weeks to grow out, it is anticipated that everything will be up and running in time for the official opening on April 11.
Mayor of Wexford George Lawlor confirmed that the 18 acre park would be welcoming visitors in the next couple of weeks.
'I expect it to be partially open in the next month,' he said. 'Some work will still be going on at that stage. The recent heavy rain has hampered the time scale slightly as a result of the nature of the work, with the amount of landscaping being done and mounds and pathways being installed.
'I'd be hopeful that all the finishing touches will be in place by the time we have the official opening on April 11, which will coincide with the 43rd anniversary of Min Ryan's death.'
'This will really be a special addition to Wexford as a civic amenity and I'm sure people will not be disappointed by the finished product.'
