It's 54 years since Bill Doyle made his first public appearance as a drummer with his father's accordion band and in that time, he has established a reputation as one of the finest in the county, if not the country.
Bill is still playing as well as ever and is looking forward to his 70th birthday, which he intends to celebrate it in style!
To mark the occasion, Bill has rounded up a stellar collection of musicians and singers he has worked with over the years and they're all going to congregate in the Riverbank House Hotel on Wednesday, April 4, to stage a real trip down memory lane.
The 'House Band' for the night will be the Top Cats - Fintan and Colette Cleary, Tony Carty, Helena Bates and Bill on drums.
Special guests will include: Ger Busher, Sharon Clancy; Don Sadler and Gary Maguire of 'Bourbon Street'; 'The Menapians' featuring Billy Roche, Mike Odlum, Bernie Barrett, Toddy Walsh and Nadine Roche; Johnny Dunne, James O'Sullivan, Matthew O'Brien, Paul Molloy and master of ceremonies for the night, Maurice McCarthy.
There will also be a special reunion of the band 'Full Circle' - comprising of Maurice McCarthy, Jimmy Gaddren, Anthony Ryan and, of course, Bill on drums. The band was hugely popular around the pubs of Wexford through the 80s and 90s. Bill's Birthday Bash promises to be a great occasion where you can dance the night away to some top class music.
Tickets are just €10 and include finger food. They are available from the hotel on 053 91 23611.
