A year after opening a 5,000 sq ft supermarket in Gorey, the UK frozen food chain Iceland has confirmed that it is planning to open a new store soon in Wexford town.
A spokeswoman for the company said the company intends to open a second County Wexford outlet in Redmond Square in the coming months and will release more information closer to the date.
Iceland sells an extensive range of frozen foods as well as fresh produce and chilled goods. Iceland Stores Ireland LTD currently has more than 20 supermarkets in the country and is seeking sites for more proposed outlets. The Gorey store employs approximately 30 people.
It is understood that the company has earmarked a number of units opposite Dunnes Stores as the site of the new Wexford supermarket, beside where the National Driver Licence Centre is located.
