This year's Bewley's Coffee Morning initiative in Co. Wexford was a great success with a large number of people coming out to support it in four different venues around the county.
Events took place in the Forge, Crossabeg, Mernagh's in Oylegate, Clonard Community Centre and at Wexford Boat Club.
The Bewley's Coffee Morning initiative has been ongoing for 26 years and during that time over €35m has been raised for hospice and homecare services around the country.
Wexford Hospice Homecare Services was set up in 1991 by a voluntary committee and provides home-based specialist palliative care throughout the county.
The service in Wexford is provided by specialist palliative care nurses and in addition to providing hands-on care themselves those involved with the organisation also provide support to and assist families and professional carers.
Significantly, the service is funded through voluntary donations from organisations and individual people in the community and fundraising events like the coffee morning are vital for it to continue to provide support to people in the county.
All money raised in the county for the organisation stays in the county and the organisers of the local Bewley's Coffee Morning events were delighted with the number of people who supported them.
