Bridge lessons

Lessons for beginners will commence on Tuesday, October 8, at 7.30 p.m. at Wexford Bridge Club. These lessons will run for 16 weeks. Contact Michael Coffey for further details on 087 0622281.

Halcyon Days

Soap stars Bryan Murray and Una Crawford O'Brien who play Bob Charles and Renee Phelan in RTÉ's 'Fair City' are en route to Wexford. The couple will star in the hit play 'Halcyon Days' which will run for one night only in the Wexford Arts Centre on Thursday, October 10.

Tickets are €18-€20.


A blend of Chair Yoga and Mindfulness will take place on the first Wednesday of each month at Wexford Mental Health Association (WMHA), Henrietta Street, Wexford.

Wednesday, October 2, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Wednesday, November 6, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Wednesday, December 12 (the second Wednesday), from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

It is free and all are welcome.

In addition, the WMHA are hosting an 'Introduction to Mindfulness' with Mark Ralph, mindfulness consultant, on Thursday, October 10, from 10.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in its Training Centre in Henrietta Street (booking is advised).

Male Voice Choir

The Male Voice Choir's CD launch takes place on Monday, October 7 at 8 p.m. in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford and will be officially launched by Mayor of Wexford George Lawlor. The choir will perform some tracks from the CD on the night and all are welcome to attend.

Pantomime Society

Wexford Pantomime Society wish to extend a huge thank you to all who auditioned for their upcoming production of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. With over 200 people auditioning over the weekend it was one of the biggest turnouts in recent years. Local man and 'Jack and the Beanstalk' director Tom O'Leary commended all who auditioned, young and old, for their courage and enthusiasm. The Society hope to announce the cast in the coming week and will then head straight into a busy rehearsal period.

'Jack and the Beanstalk' runs nightly from January 6 to 11, with matinees on both January 11 and 12. Online booking will open in late November 2019.


Bingo takes place every Tuesday night in the TAG Centre Taghmon.

Doors open 7.30 p.m. with a start time at 8 p.m.

BeLonG To Youth Services, a national organisation supporting LGBTI+ young people, is offering free teacher training in Wexford this October. This training is interactive, engaging, and will build your capacity to meet the needs of LGBTI+ students. This workshop for second-level teachers will take place from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 22 in the FDYS, Francis Street, Wexford.

During the two-hour workshop, you will learn how to improve LGBTI+ inclusion in education, make your school a friendlier place for LGBTI+ students, and support LGBTI+ students. By learning how to support the needs of LGBTI+ students, you can create a safer school environment fostering the wellbeing of all students.

Irish Flora

Wexford Naturalists' Field Club's October lecture 'In Search of the Origins of the Irish Flora - A Genetic Perspective' by Dr Colin Kelleher, National Botanic Gardens, will take place on Thursday, October 3, at 8pm in The Pumphouse, Wexford Wildfowl Reserve.

All are welcome. Admission for non-members is €5 and this includes light refreshments.

Bad Intentions

Wexford Academy of Martial Arts (WAMA) Presents Bad Intentions 3 at Clayton Whites on Saturday, October 5, from 6-11 p.m.
