Rosslare Strand: Light for a Life - Christmas is a time when our thoughts turn to those we have lost. If you would like your loved one remembered on the Rosslare Community Centre Christmas Tree (located in the Access for All Garden), you can do so by donating €3 and a light will be lit in remembrance.

They will also be remembered at Christmas Mass on December 25. Donations can be made at Rosslare Pharmacy, Boggans Supermarket or New2U Charity shop.

Christmas Day Swim

The annual dip before dinner will take place at Rosslare Strand at midday on Christmas Day. All are welcome to participate. Soup and mulled wine will be served. There will be a bucket collection on aid of St Mary's Day Care Centre.

Befriending Group

We are currently seeking volunteers to act as befrienders. Volunteers have found it to be a hugely enriching experience, as beneficial to their own wellbeing as that of the people visited. If you think you might have an hour or so to contribute every week, please consider becoming a Befriender. To find out more, call us at 085 8526866.

Youth Club

We are now officially on holiday and our New Year kicks off with a trip to Dundrum on January 3. To keep up to date with our activities, follow our Facebook page.

Active Retirement

Our next meeting will be held on December 10 at 10.30 a.m. in the Drift Bar - please note the change of location - we hope to see a good turnout of all members.

We will have complimentary mince pies on December 17 which will be our last coffee morning before Christmas.

The AGM will be held on January 14 when a new committee will be elected and membership will be renewed for 2020.

A holiday is planned to Westport on April 20 for five nights. The cost will be €395 which will include the coach to and from Rosslare, five nights B&B, four evening meals, daily outings by coach and nightly entertainment in the Castlecourt Hotel. Non-members welcome but must have their own travel insurance. Deposits taken to book a place contact any member of the committee or ring 086 1917190.

Course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to use internet and email safely, how to make video calls, how to pay motor tax online, pay your bills online or order your shopping to be delivered online. We can also teach you how to order your library books to be delivered on the library bus. Best if you can bring your own laptop or phone, but if you can't no worries, we're fully equipped.

The lotto was not won €9,400. The numbers were 5, 26, 28 and 29 on December 5. One match-three winner Kieran Robinson. Next draw is December 10 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and is €9,550. Tickets are €2 and can be bought off all Managers, players, committee and places around the parish.

Our Nursery for four to six years olds is at 10 a.m. every Saturday will finish on December 14 when somebody in red might turn up. It is good fun with lots of games. All are welcome and it is free.

Tickets for the 12 Days of Christmas are on sale throughout the parish off players, managers, selectors and committee members. You have 12 draws to win from. Tickets are €20 or three for €50. This draw is for the development of the pitches in Tagoat. Your support will very welcome. First draw is Wednesday, December 11, in the clubhouse.

We are holding a re-union ball on December 29 ay 7.30 p.m. in Ferrycarrig hotel. We are presenting medals to 1994,1999 and 2019 winning county teams. Tickets can be bought off Conor Roche 087 2027202 and Corinna Shiel 086 8681925.

We held our AGM on Sunday, November 24. We had a wonderful day last week for our Christmas celebrations. A great time was had by all and we would like to sincerely thank all the staff and volunteers who went the extra mile to make the day spectacular.

A great evening was had last week at the Christmas in Tagoat festivities. The lights looked absolutely beautiful and an evening of merriment followed which was capped by a visit from Santa himself. We would like to thank everyone who made the evening possible especially those who gave their time to ensure great fun was had by all.
